Violent extremism and radicalization, in all forms and manifestations, currently constitute the most serious threats to peace and security of a country’s democracy and rule of law. As such, the fight against these threats, regardless of where they occur or by whom they are committed, requires governmental actors to strengthen cooperation at the national level. Similarly, prevention requires to be permanent, ongoing, and through multi-agency approaches.

The program goal: “To strengthen prevention efforts in Western Balkans, and increase youth resilience and exchange of good practices through Regional Exchange Platforms/hubs”. This Goal contributes towards strengthening the roles and capacities of CSOs and CSOs networks/ platforms to engage in the advancement of culture of tolerance and resilience to violence, while contributing towards inclusive societies for sustainable development (smart Balkans’ goal, also echoing with the priorities outlined in the Guidelines for Applicants).

Tirana, 1 February 2021 – Nine Albanian associations of families of missing persons and civil society organizations will work to increase participation of civil society groups and missing persons’ families, especially women, in missing persons process, using grant money awarded by the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) last week.

The grants, in total worth more than €77,000 and financed by the European Union, will also support projects that aim and to raise awareness about justice processes.
